Paul Garity, Partner, founded Capstan Advisors in 2007 along with John
Davis and Kent Wiegel, to assist major corporations in improving the
management of their real estate assets. Mr. Garity is also President of
Real Estate Consulting Solutions, Inc. (RECS), a firm he founded in
2001 to provide strategic consulting, investment analytics and
litigation support services to real estate owners, developers and
lenders. Prior to launching RECS, he spent 22 years at KPMG, where he
was the National Practice Partner-in-Charge for Corporate Real Estate
Consulting.
Mr. Garity has assisted corporate clients in
organizational design, sourcing strategy, outsourcing, process
improvement and information systems in the U.S., Europe and Asia. He
has a broad background in real estate and finance, and managed over 500
consulting assignments including portfolio strategy, valuations,
feasibility studies, transaction due diligence, loan sales, workouts
and litigation support. He has been a speaker at CoreNet and BOMA
conferences and passed both the California CPA and American Society of
Appraisers exams.
Mr. Garity has an MBA from the Amos Tuck
School at Dartmouth College. He serves on the board of directors of
Lodgian, a publicly traded hotel company, and 211 Los Angeles, a not
for profit information and referral agency for the underserved in Los
Angeles County.
